Joint Statement by the Ducato di Piazza Pontida and the Committee for the Organization of Europeade Bergamo 2026

The Ducato di Piazza Pontida publishes the following joint statement, jointly issued with the Europeade Bergamo 2026 Organizing Committee.

The Ducato di Piazza Pontida and the Committee for the Organization of Europeade Bergamo 2026 wish to publicly reaffirm that the event “Europeade Bergamo 2026” must be considered definitively cancelled, as already formally communicated to the IEC (International Europeade Committee) on 30 April 2026.

This decision was made due to the impossibility of guaranteeing the organizational, operational and economic conditions necessary for the realization of an international event of Europeade’s scale, also in light of the complex geopolitical context and the ongoing international crisis, which are significantly affecting the sustainability and planning of events of a European nature.

The Ducato di Piazza Pontida and the Organizing Committee wish to clarify that, despite the efforts made in recent months and the numerous attempts to identify sustainable solutions, the essential conditions required to continue the project did not materialize.

In light of the above, any communication, promotion or initiative suggesting that the organization of Europeade Bergamo 2026 is still ongoing must be considered unfounded and cannot be attributed to the organizations signing this press release.

The undersigned organizations would also like to thank all associations, volunteers, folkloric groups, institutions and citizens who expressed their support for and willingness to contribute to the project, sharing its spirit of cultural enhancement and European cooperation.
