The Duke’s Greetings to the Authorities for a Happy 2026

On Saturday, January 10, the Ducato di Piazza Pontida will bring its New Year greetings to the city authorities.
And, as tradition dictates, it will do so in its own distinctive way.
And, as tradition dictates, it will do so in its own distinctive way.
The Duke, accompanied by a carriage, horses, knights, and standard-bearers, will visit the Mayor, the President of the Province, and the Prefect to extend best wishes for a happy 2026—through irony, satire, and cheerfulness, elements that have always defined the Ducato’s style.
But what kind of greetings will the Duke reserve for the authorities?
What will he wish for the new Mayor at the start of her mandate?
And for the new Prefect?
And for the “President of Presidents” of the Province?
And for the new Prefect?
And for the “President of Presidents” of the Province?
Questions that will find their answers during the traditional procession.
The procession will depart from Piazza Pontida at 11:00 a.m., then proceed to Piazza Matteotti and continue along Via Tasso, reaching the buildings of the Provincial Administration and the Prefecture.
An event that renews a tradition rooted in history, Bergamasco spirit, and that smile which—even in official greetings—should never be missing.
