Rigoletto: One of Verdi's Greatest Masterpieces
Composed by Giuseppe Verdi with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, Rigoletto premiered in 1851 at La Fenice Theatre in Venice and immediately became one of the most celebrated works in the operatic repertoire.
The story follows the court jester Rigoletto, his devoted daughter Gilda, and the Duke of Mantua, unfolding through a dramatic tale of passion, revenge, and sacrifice that culminates in one of the most famous endings in opera history.
Featuring immortal arias such as La donna è mobile, Rigoletto remains one of the most beloved and frequently performed operas in theatres around the world.
